History Mystery Osteoarchaeology Workshop for Schools

HISTORY MYSTERY: THE LOST NINE WORKSHOP

Include up to 72 pupils per day

Unearth the Past. Reveal the History. Dare to delve into the dust of centuries?

A groundbreaking discovery has been made – skeletal remains unearthed from the depths of time. Could this be the final resting place of a missing historical figure, lost in to the world until now?

Allow your students to become Osteoarchaeologists for the day.

Inspired by the sensational unearthing of Richard III in 2012, 'History Mystery: The Nine' thrusts students into the heart of a thrilling investigation. Fuse the precision of science with the intrigue of history as participants step into the shoes of those who piece together the stories bones whisper. Can they unravel the secrets? Like history's greatest detectives, students will meticulously examine the evidence, analyse bones, scrutinise the distinguishing contours of a skull and unlock the secrets held within ancient DNA.

Logic is the team's compass. Attention to detail is the key. It requires the sharpest minds, those who blend meticulous observation with brilliant deduction, to solve "History Mystery: The Lost NINE."

"This was an excellent workshop. The activities, language and conceptual themes were carefully considered and allowed ALL pupils to be challenged. Their were a variety of skills the children were encouraged to show and the workshop carefully balanced practical aspects with written discussion. The children were fascinated by the ‘case’ and focused throughout. This workshop lends itself to a huge range of topics including Science, Maths, English and the Humanities."
